ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Vittorio Dassi was born in 1893 in Lissone, near Milan. His furniture is extremely characteristic, combining the lightness of form and function. His projects are often almost sculptural, showing the amazing craftsmanship and hard work of the creator. Dassi not only designed furniture, but also produced it in his father's factory. His furniture can be combined with the refined style of Gio Ponti, with whom Vittorio was associated with an important collaboration after taking over the Dassi Mobili Moderni company in Lissone from his father. The most important projects of the factory include the creation of furniture for the rooms of the Royal Hotel in Naples, designed by Gio Ponti in the mid-1950s.
